- Dirt or other mess requiring excessive cleaning; or
- Any other cost incurred by Homeowner due to Guest’s stay

Electricity is extremely expensive in Mexico, and The Mexican Power Company produces power by burning diesel, so the power itself is expensive already. Then the company assigns a certain limit of electricity depending on the average household. If a household goes above that limit, they are charged more, and suddenly the amounts can be quite high. So home owners watch usage closely, not only because of the cost, but watching consumption for environmental reasons. Therefore, use of excessive electricity will be charged back to the guest, so we ask that you please turn off the lights and the AC when not at home. It will stay relatively cool in the home, and will cool off quickly when you return. A picture of the meter will be taken upon arrival as well as departure to determine any excessive usage beyond a 50 kilowatt per day allowance, (e.g., 350 kilowatts for 7 days, 200 kilowatts for 4 days, etc.). So if the meter is at 13,000 kws upon check-in and it is at 13,750 upon check-out (7-day stay), that’s a total of 750 kws utilized, 400 over the allowance. The surcharge will be 6 pesos per kilowatt, or 2400 pesos, approximately $115 USD, and this amount is taken out of your security deposit.
No smoking of any kind, including cigarettes, marijuana, e-cigarettes. If it is found that any member of the rental party, or guest of the rental party, has smoked inside the cabin, your $1500 security deposit will be forfeited.
